Bhutan combination tours: Experience the magic of the Himalayas without limits
If you're already embarking on the long journey to the Himalayas, why not combine the allure of Bhutan with the neighboring wonders of Asia? Each of these countries has its own unique and distinctive character. The contrast between peaceful, highly regulated Bhutan and bustling India or adventurous Nepal makes a combined trip an unforgettable experience.

Bhutan & Nepal: The Himalayan Classic
This combination is the most logical and popular choice. Kathmandu is one of the most important transit hubs for travel to Bhutan, making a stay in Nepal a wonderful addition to your flight itinerary.
The Contrast: Experience the vibrant, lively chaos and the incredible density of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley before diving into the deeply relaxed silence and exclusivity of Bhutan.
Highlights: Boudhanath Stupa and Durbar Square in Kathmandu, paired with the Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang) in Bhutan.
Logistics: A short, breathtaking flight (approx. 1 hour) connects Kathmandu with Paro. Sit on the left side for the best view of Mount Everest!
Ideal Travel Duration: 12 to 16 days.
Bhutan & India: From Maharajas to Mountain Monks
India almost completely surrounds Bhutan, allowing for fascinating contrasts and diverse routes—whether overland or by plane.
The Options: * The Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur) & Bhutan: Combine the Taj Mahal and the colorful palaces of Rajasthan with the silent monasteries of the Himalayas.
Sikkim & Darjeeling & Bhutan: A journey through Northeast India. Experience the famous tea plantations at the foot of Kangchenjunga and travel overland into Bhutan through the border gate at Phuentsholing.
The Contrast: The incredible intensity, vibrant colors, and volume of India stand in direct contrast to the untouched nature and tranquility of the Bhutanese kingdom.
Logistics: Excellent flight connections from Delhi or Kolkata to Paro, or an exciting overland border crossing (Phuentsholing/Samdrup Jongkhar).
Ideal Travel Duration: 14 to 21 days.
Bhutan & Tibet: The Roof of the World
For travelers with a deep interest in spirituality, the combination of Tibet and Bhutan is the ultimate pilgrimage. Both cultures are deeply rooted in Vajrayana Buddhism but have developed in completely different ways.
The Contrast: The vast, dry, and extremely high-altitude plateaus of Tibet with the imposing Potala Palace in Lhasa, compared to the lush green, forested valleys and fortresses (Dzongs) in Bhutan.
Highlights: Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Mount Everest Base Camp (Tibet side), as well as the Punakha Dzong in Bhutan.
Logistics: Important: There are no direct flights or open land borders between Tibet and Bhutan. A trip requires Kathmandu (Nepal) as a connecting hub. Tibet also requires a special permit (Tibet Travel Permit), which we will organize for you.
Ideal Travel Duration: 18 to 24 days (due to the necessary altitude acclimatization in Tibet).
